Of His Workmanship

By Louanne Robinson

Sinuous movement of firm muscle

From a soft white furry ball

Mechanically whirring

Content love language on my lap

Saucer eyed innocence

Stiletto paw weoponry

Cubb'ling donut style at the foot of my bed

Chaser of the unknown

With twitch foot moan

While dozing on the rug

Just out of reach teaser

Doing Nureyev leaps at paper prey

A sudden locomotive sprint down the hall

Sprawled all fours to the ceiling

Or waiting 'hind the door at my homecomming

You must be of His workmanship

His love is etched in every part

Little white cat, His eye is on the sparrow

So I know he watches you too, and smiles
